In the past I've headed to the men's department of the local clothing stores. But honestly I get tired year after year choosing between ties, colognes, or 'World's Best Dad" coffee mugs. So this year I started early and did a little surfing on the highway. I found many, many, web sites offering personalised gifts. So I thought, okay, this is a good start. A personalised gift sounds like an good idea.
So I spent all morning today, with a cup of coffee in hand, browsing sites. I eventually came across National Engavers. They specialize in engravings on glassware, silver plated item, signs, and trophies. The glassware caught my immediate attention. Personalised tankards, steins, brandy glasses, and shot glasses. ...yep.. that's it. My husband, my brother, and brother in-law get together in their man cave regularly to watch football and of course beer is always a food staple at those gatherings.
My brother is a bit of a brandy connoisseur. He does the whole bit with warming his brandy, sniffing it forever, then downing it. I found this wonder brandy warming set for him, I'm going to have it engraved with the message "Happy Father's Day - For When the Kids Are Sleeping".
For my brother in-law I went with this great Hand Made Star Base tankard. He's a beer drinker to the end and is always complaining that we don't have enough "proper" beer mugs in the house. It has a heavy base and I'm sure will feel great in his hand. I'm going to have it engraved with the message "Connor's Personal Tankard - Happy Fathers Day!"
Lastly, for my hubby, he's a beer drinker too, but he also likes sampling any new scotch he comes across. So I ordered this great 15 piece Boston Shot Glass set, along with this clever serving paddle. I'm having each glass engraved with "Rown's Cave".So I'm all set for Father's Day, and it's still months away. So I guess I'll get started on personalising my christmas gifts this year.
